GOM’s measurement systems provide strong support to the aerospace industry and its suppliers by providing accurate part gear rack geometry and material properties. The relevant data was utilized for finite component simulation and flow evaluation, and the actual data obtained in the wind tunnel and the environmental test box were in comparison for simulation verification and input parameters for reverse engineering. Optical 3D scanners are especially suitable for quality control of complex free-form surfaces. Consequently, they are accustomed to identify aircraft engine airfoils, land gas and steam turbines, and turbochargers.
