I just obtained mine. how do I get that huge chunky steel piece off the spline to make it seem like it does in 
the 2nd photo. The spline is not uncovered. Baffled. Did I get the mistaken merchandise?
A: Remove the castle nut from the threaded portion of the shaft. The blade hub adapter need to slide off the spline with a minor persuasion. Then the spline and the threads will be uncovered.

what is the difference between the 250179 and the 250001? They search equivalent to me.
A: The overall box is the exact same, but the input shaft technical specs vary among the two.
